Making skin science work for you
Your body’s largest organ needs the same care as the other major organs. It’s precious— we’ll treat it that way. We work with you to find ways to help your skin perform its functions to the best of its abilities on a day-to-day basis. An in-depth understanding of the physiology and anatomy of your skin is essential to treating any condition, identifying and fulfilling specific needs, and finding effective ways to help the skin regenerate so you can manage the aging process. That’s what sets ID Aesthetics apart. We’re constantly seeking out innovative ways to treat conditions and target specific needs so we can help change the life of each client’s skin for the better.
Three layers. 28 days.
Your skin is a protective barrier that absorbs vitamin D and safeguards against injury, sun exposure, free radicals, and heat. But did you know that it also regulates your body temperature, stores water and fat? And that it has its own 28-day life cycle? That’s approximately the length of time it takes for keratinocytes or new epidermal cells to travel from the hypodermis—the innermost layer of the skin—to the epidermis or outermost layer. There they die and are replaced by new keratinocytes making their way up to the outermost layer. But they need to have a chance to get there to do their job. As we age, the journey takes longer and the effects of aging become visible.
Making changes and seeing results: learn to love your skin.
Skin results don’t happen overnight. As it takes longer for new keratinocytes to replace old ones, so it takes time to see the effects of treatments, skincare products, and lifestyle changes. There’s no such thing as a quick fix. We help you learn how to team treatments with skincare products featuring topical antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals in ways that actively support its long-term health and wellbeing.
How we do it for you
Your epidermis works 24/7 to protect and preserve your skin. Our job is to help it to perform better. To do that, we identify and analyse your individual skin identity and build a plan that works with it. All skins have common features. Blood vessels deliver nutrients to the epidermis. Collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid in the dermis hydrate, support, and give skin its flexibility. Sun exposure and aging slow down the skin’s ability to bounce back, and breaks down collagen, which leads to fine lines and wrinkles. These are problems common to all of us. But the structure of each skin is different: there’s more to it than working out if you have dry, oily, or combination. No skin is ‘normal’. We treat each skin according to its unique makeup.
We offer treatments for every need, from facials and vitamin infusions to body treatments that tackle issues such as cellulite. Choose from chemical peels, non-invasive and laser treatments, mesotherapy, and skin needling. Whether you’re seeking relief from a specific condition such as acne or rosacea or want to start playing an active role in managing your skin’s aging process, we can help.
We offer a range of treatments that target specific problems and help protect and preserve your skin. Talking to you and gaining an understanding of the unique makeup of your skin, learning about your lifestyle, and performing a visual assessment is the first step in designing your treatment. The next step is refining the treatment to boost its efficacy for your unique skin identity.
All treatments are performed by our principal, Inga. Each treatment is thoughtfully designed and informed by her years of personal and professional experience in treating skin conditions and needs. Inga takes a holistic approach to treating the skin, basing each treatment on the anatomy, chemistry and functionality of the human skin, external factors like pollution and sun exposure, and the effects caused by lifestyle factors such as age, diet, exercise, stress, and seasonal changes.
To guide you on your journey will involve advising you on how to better care for the health of your skin. This could be advice on breaking habits detrimental to your skin’s wellbeing and developing new, beneficial behaviours. You may benefit from specific skincare practices. It could be that certain ingredients, environments, or situations trigger certain reactions or make conditions flare up. We’re here to help you learn all about your skin and its needs, which involves pairing treatments and products with a few lifestyle changes. We have a holistic approach to skin health.
